Pilot’s UFO Shock

Alderney, Channel Islands, UK - April 26, 2007 - Two experienced airline pilots on separate flights saw something up to a mile wide off the coast of Alderney on Monday afternoon. Surprisingly, Jersey radar equipment did not pick up the object, although an air traffic controller said he had received simultaneous reports from the Aurigny and Blue Islands pilots.

Aurigny’s Captain Ray Bowyer, 50, said he saw the strange object during a flight from Southampton. He spotted a bright-yellow light 10 miles west of Alderney while his plane was about 30 miles from the island and at 4,000ft. ‘It was a very sharp, thin yellow object with a green area. It was 2,000ft up and stationary,’ he said.
‘I thought it was about 10 miles away, although I later realised it was approximately 40 miles from us. At first, I thought it was the size of a 737.’ A 737 is slightly smaller than a jumbo jet.

‘But it must have been much bigger because of how far away it was. It could have been as much as a mile wide.’ As he continued his approach to Alderney, Capt. Bowyer saw a second identical object further to the west.

‘It was exactly the same but looked smaller because it was further away. It was closer to Guernsey.’ The sightings come days after reports that scientists have discovered outside our solar system an Earth-like planet capable of supporting extraterrestrial life.

‘I can’t explain it. At first, I thought it might have been a reflection from a vinery in Guernsey, but that would have disappeared quickly. This was clearly visual for about nine minutes.’

The sightings happened at about 3pm. Capt. Bowyer, who has flown commercial planes for about 20 years, said he had described the objects to air traffic control and filled in an incident report.

‘As I got closer to it, it became clear to me that it was tangible. I was in two minds about going towards it to have a closer look but decided against it because of the size of it. I had to think of the safety of the passengers first.’ He added that the experience had been quite scary.

‘I’m certainly not saying that it was something of another world. All I’m saying is that I have never seen anything like it before in all my years of flying.’

Paul Kelly, 31, the air traffic controller who was on duty, said the Blue Islands pilot had made a similar report, but nothing had appeared on his radar.

‘The pilot from Blue Islands was en route to Jersey at the same time and as he went past Sark he described an object behind him to his left,’ he said. ‘The description was very similar to Captain Bowyer’s and they described it as being in exactly the same place. But they were looking at it from opposite sides.’

The pilot told him the object had been 1,500ft beneath his plane. ‘The Blue Islands plane was at 3,500ft at the time so, again, both pilots placed it at the same altitude. ‘If the object was stationary, our equipment would not have picked it up because the radar would have screened it out.’

'Ghost Ship' Mystery Puzzles Rescuers

SYDNEY - Australian rescuers were on Friday trying to solve the "Mary Celeste" style mystery of a yacht found floating off the coast with its engine running, food on its table ready to eat, but no crew.

The 12-metre (36 feet) catamaran was found 80 nautical miles off Townsville on the northeast coast, but there was no sign of the three crewmen who had set sail from Queensland state bound for Australia's west coast Sunday.

"What they found was a bit strange in that everything was normal, there was just no sign of the crew," Jon Hall from emergency management in Queensland told local radio Friday.

Hall said the yacht's sails were up but one was badly shredded. He said the engine was running, there was food on the table, a laptop was turned on, and the radio and global positioning satellite (GPS) were working.

Three life jackets and survival equipment, including an emergency beacon, were found on board, but no life rafts.

The Mary Celeste was an abandoned "ghost ship" found off the coast of Portugal in 1872. None of the Mary Celeste's crew or passengers were ever found.

The KAZ 11 was spotted adrift on the outer Great Barrier Reef Wednesday. Rescue crews boarded the vessel Friday but there was no sign of the three crew men, aged 56, 63 and 69.

Police said weather conditions at sea Sunday and Monday were rough. "There was a fair sort of a wind out there but it's improved since then, so who knows what could've happened," said Police Chief Superintendent Roy Wall,.

Rescuers have retrieved the boat's GPS system to analyze data for clues to the mysterious disappearance of the crew.

"That will now enable us to track backwards where this yacht has actually been in the last few days, and we're hoping that can pinpoint the search area for the missing crew," said Hall.

UFO Videotaped Over Vatican

Received the following photo and message from my good friend Piotr Cielebiaś, NPN - www.npn.ehost.pl: Concerning the photograph - On the left side of the Basilic's Cuppola there is a bright object (left upper corner), orange in color. What do you think about it.

I have just received it. It was taken in June 24, 2006 in Rome by a Polish tourist and submitted recently.

Robert Morningstar, associate editor of UFODigest.com enlarged and enhancement the photograph sent by Piotr. Robert states that "the attached enlargements indicate to me a solid object above Rome."

"The color of the object is consistant with UFO colors as the UFO craft transition in energy from red to amber as they undergo power shifts. Rome, unlike New York and other brightly illuminated cities, has little light that could be reflected so brightly from such an apparently high flying object. The equalized enlargement (the lower one) shows the body of the craft as a black silhouette", he added.

All of us agree that this is a pretty good picture and considering its subject matter, we decided to add it as the final page of Chris Barbato's "The Omega Secret".

As Robert Morningstar states: "It is most appropriate!"

UFO Videotaped Over Oregon

A couple were driving between Eagle Point and White City on 03-20-07, when the woman noticed a small, shiny spot in the sky. She grabbed her camera, and began to film the object, but not without difficulty, as it was moving very quickly through the sky, and her car was rolling down the highway. She finally loses the object when it disappears behind some trees. Check the YouTube video.... this is probably one of the best UFO videos in quite some time.

Mountain Lions in Pennsylvania and Mid-Atlantic

Due to recent reports of cougars or mountain lions in Pennsylvania, as well as New York, Maryland and New Jersey, we have decided to run this earlier clip

The eastern mountain lion debate - already heated in some quarters in Pennsylvania and elsewhere - will be heating up a few thousand degrees as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service begins a review of scientific and commercial information to determine the status of the endangered eastern cougar.

While hundreds of reports of mountain lions throughout the East surface every years, this will be the first review the service has done since publishing a recovery plan in 1982. That plan was as follow-up to the service placing the eastern cougar on the List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife in 1973.

The Endangered Species Act requires a review every five years of all protected species. However, according to the service, limited resources and higher priorities have postponed the review for the eastern cougar until now.

"We will compile and evaluate scientific evidence to help us understand the status of the eastern cougar and to determine what future actions the service should take," said Martin Miller, chief of endangered species for the service’s northeast region.

Some in Pennsylvania, and elsewhere, frustrated with state and federal agency insistence that any cats they might be seeing out there are escaped or released exotic pets, or the result of outright misidentification by those making the sightings, would suggest the service allow for a limited taking of a few cats for study.

As part of the review, the service is seeking information on the status of the eastern cougar in the 21 states - from Maine to South Carolina and westward from Michigan to Tennessee - where the Endangered Species Act protects it.

Lacking definitive evidence of the species’ existence, the service has presumed the eastern cougar to be extinct, and noted that it is improbable that a small cougar population persisted in the eastern states for more than a century.

According to the service, most of the confirmed cougar records since 1950 (animals killed, good quality photos/videos, genetic evidence) are known to be escapes of captive origin. There may be thousands of captive cougars in the eastern United States.

"An important part of the Service’s review will be to compile the best available scientific evidence and objectively assess whether the eastern cougar is truly extinct," said Mark McCollough, endangered species biologist in the service’s northeast region.
