New Video Of The Loch Ness Monster?

Edinburgh, Scotland (AHN) - A Yorkshire man claims to have shot a video capturing the mythical Loch Ness monster. Gordon Holmes, a 55-year-old lab technician, was filming the lake where he captured an animal he says was about 45 feet long, moving at about 6 mph, on his camera.

"I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this jet black thing," Holmes told the AP. The video has stirred debate in the cryptozoology community, as the quality of the tape is fairly good.

Marine biologist Adrian Shine, who has watched the video, says it is some of the best footage he has ever seen. However, he still offers some explanations to describe the sighting. "It could be some biological creature, it could just be the waves of the loch or it could some psychological phenomenon in as much as we see what we want to see," Shine told the AP.

It is not for the first time that someone has claimed to have seen Nessie, the purported successors of pre-historic, dinosauric, aquatic reptiles. There have been thousands of sightings of Nessie over the decades, the most iconic being the one by a gynecologist in the 1930s.

However, the legend of Nessie is far more historic as it was also mentioned by St. Columba, one of the founders of the Christian church in Scotland, in the late 7th century.
