2012 End Times Prophecy

Since becoming the Pennsylvania, Delaware and West Virginia Mutual UFO Network State Director in 2007, I’ve had many opportunities to speak about UFOs at Conferences and various radio shows all over the Northeast. My daughter, Vanessa, attends most of these Conferences. She often reminds me that she likes my 2012 talk the best. I coincidentally published “12/21/2012 A Prophecy” within weeks of becoming a MUFON State Director. What follows is an outline of my 2012 talk which covers various cultures and new age thoughts along with scientific facts.

All over the world, doomsday vaults are being built. To be precise, 1400 seed banks are being built and managed by the Global Crop Diversity Trust Board. These vaults are deep within mountain ranges at 300 feet above sea level and house millions of seeds at -1 degrees and can store them for 1000 years. These vaults must be completed by 2012 and serve to safeguard against asteroid strikes, nuclear wars, climate change, and natural disasters.

The Frozen Ark Project at the University of Nottingham in the UK also collects DNA from thousands of species and stores them. Some believe that Noah’s Ark actually was a UFO that stored DNA to restart the planet after it was destroyed by the great Flood.

In 2004, the asteroid Apophis was discovered. Apophis, also called Apepi, Apopis or Rerek, ancient Egyptian God of chaos who took the form of a serpent and, as the foe of the sun god, Re, represented all that was evil. Although the serpent generally symbolized divinity and royalty, Apophis inhabited the underworld and personified death and destruction. Each day Apophis encountered Re at an appointed hour in the sun gods ritual journey through the night in his divine bark. The voice of Apophis betrayed him and Seth, who rode as guardian in front of Re, attacked him with daggers, slaying him. The ancient Egyptians thought they could help Re by reciting payers against Apophis. (Encyclopedia Britannica)

Project SpaceGuard was formed in 1998 by NASA to identify all near earth asteroids. There are 1100 such objects larger than one mile wide. The categorizing was to be completed by 2020. The United States and China have the greatest likelihood on a strike. The asteroid Apophis has been tracked since 2004 and will be tracked for years. It is the first asteroid promoted to a level four threat on the Torino scale which measures the threat posed by near earth objects. These size asteroids strike the earth every 70,000 years. It is one half mile wide and passes the earth every seven years. It has a 2.8% or 1/37 chance of hitting the earth on April 13 2036 with the force of a 500 megaton bomb. Apophis is not a planet killer, but it would wipe out a large city or small country upon impact. Its trajectory is across the Yucatan peninsula and across the Atlantic Ocean towards Nigeria. NASA believes it has time to deal with the problem. In 2029, Apophis will pass by at the height of our satellites, skimming the earth’s atmosphere just 22,000 miles away. Satellites orbit at 26,000 miles or one tenth the distance to the moon. It was then that corrective action would be taken. We are not technologically prepared to divert an asteroid on such short notice and have not yet tested the technology. It will be visible in the night sky in 2029 from Europe, Africa and Asia.

In April of 2008, I told everyone I knew that Apophis would pass by on the 13th and there should be interesting news in the newspapers and on TV. To my surprise, there was not one news article written on Apophis when it passed by closer to the earth than to the moon. I was stunned that the media would keep this story silent for the “good” of the public.

In March of 2009, with two days notice, the 152 foot asteroid DD45 was discovered. It passed by at twice the distance of our satellites at 44,750 miles from earth. It was the same size as the asteroid that exploded over Tunguska Siberia in 1908 which flattened 80 million trees on 80 square miles. Amazingly, the Siding Spring Space Observatory reported that, “No object of that size or larger has been observed to come closer to the earth”. Apparently our Space Observatory never heard of Apophis.

In June of 2009, US satellites that detect asteroids that enter our atmosphere are now classified secret and off limits to the scientific community due to the fact that these satellites also track nuclear test explosions. The data will no longer be released.

It is instances like this that reinforce my belief that the government censors what we are told and that the truth about many anomalies are not told to us. Is the urgency and silence regarding Apophis a cover for a larger more deadly asteroid that has targeted earth or do they know that Apophis will strike on its next go around?

In Georgia, someone constructed the Georgia Guide Stones which consist of 5 Granite tablets in 1980 with Cuneiform writing on it which gives 10 Directives. The first of which is to maintain human population under 500 million in balance with nature.

The Mayans, Toltec’s, Hopi Indians, I-Ching, and Hindu Kali Yuga all have 2012 or end time prophecies. Nearly every culture has a legend of the Great Flood . . . because it did happen.

The Mayan culture lasted from 300 BC to 1500 AD. The period I will review is from 300-900 AD. This Stone Age culture suddenly developed suspension bridges, astronomy, medicine and the most accurate calendar we have ever seen. More accurate than our Gregorian calendar because they started at 12/21/2012 and counted backward. Mayan records say that a dark rift exists in the center of the sky. In 2002 we discovered a black hole at the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. In 1993 we discovered that from the earth’s view, the sun will rise in the center plane of the Milky Way Galaxy on the morning of 12/21/2012. This happens every 25,800 years due to the fact that our rotation changes by one degree every 72 years. The Mayans have three calendars which end on 12/21/2012 and one is on a 25,800 year cycle. The last Ice Age started 25,800 years ago and marked the end of Neanderthal and the rise of Cro-Magnon man whose rise and departure was too quick to be explained by evolution. Will there be another change for Homo sapiens? The Jewish 7000 year calendar also ends around 2012 and the Kyoto treaty expires in 2012. The solar cycle of sun spots peaks in 2012 and every summer has been hotter than the previous since 2000 (except 2009).

The most sacred Mayan text is the Popul Vuh which tells of extraterrestrials coming to earth and creating a perfect human species and then destroying it and replacing it with a “dumbed down” version. This is a similar story to older Sumerian tablets found 10,000 miles away.

The Mayan long count is on a 5125 year cycle and also ends on 12/21/2012. Stone Henge and the Great Pyramids of Giza were built 5125 years ago. Some believe that there will be a vibrational shift in our consciousness caused by the thirteen perfectly carved crystal skulls unearthed years ago. The Mayan legend of Kukulcan says that a Caucasian male with blond hair rose from the sea and had an elongated skull. He gave the Mayans their technology and before returning to the sea, he said that he would return. When the Spaniard Cortez arrived in 1519 he was mistaken for the return of Kukulcan. Cortez brought with him diseases that killed 90% of the Aztec population and what remained of the Mayans while he raided their gold and burned their libraries similar to the burning of the Library of Alexandria by the Romans.

The Hopi Indians (500 BC to the present) say that, “In 2012 the earth will be shaken by an explosion that will rock North and South America”. There have been three previous great cleansings by an asteroid or volcano, the Ice Age and a Great Flood. “The Sacred Ones will arrive via Flying Shield”. This resembles the Book of Enoch where Ezekiel goes up into a “Flying Wheel”. It is also similar to third century Roman writings that described a “fiery shield” crossing the sky. The Hopi’s perform Kachina dances where their outfits look like space suits with helmets.

There has been other Hopi prophecy that has come true. “We will talk through spider webs” which has been accepted to be phone lines. “We will ride in carriages without horses. Women will wear men’s clothing”.

“In the end, a purifier named Pahana will arrive to destroy evil people. There will be flood, famine and hail storms (similar to the Book of Revelation)”.

Edgar Cayce, also known as the “Sleeping Prophet”, saw the destruction of Japan and the west coast of the United States in 2012. He foresaw upheavals at both Poles and a reversal of hot and cold climates. In the 1920’s, he predicted solar bursts or sun spots years before scientists discovered them for the year 2012.

Jean Dixon had a vision of Washington DC as a barren wasteland in 2012. She had a vision of Queen Nefertiti holding a Muslim baby who would grow to be charismatic and a lover of peace at first and then at 50 years old in 2012, become the Anti Christ. Jean Dixon also correctly predicted the 1967 Apollo tragedy, FDR’s death, the JFK-RFK-MLK assassinations, and that Churchill would lose his election after winning WWII.

In 1124 AD, Father Malachi O’Morgair, the first Irish Saint, wrote the Papal Prophecy and named every Pope from 1124 to the last Pope who will be named Peter....same as the first Pope. He said there will be 266 Popes. Pope Benedict is number 265. The end of days will start with the 266th Pope, Peter. The Vatican kept Father Malachi’s writings locked away until 1595. Father Malachi also correctly predicted his own death on November 2, 1148 in Clairvaux, France of natural causes.

Zecharia Sitchin, the author of the 12th Planet, theorized that there is a planet on a 3600 year orbit that will pass close to the earth in 2012. I always doubted this theory due to the fact that deep space is -434 degrees and solar radiation will boil your blood and dissolve DNA. I read recently that there may be a distant planet on an elliptical orbit that orbits a dwarf star which keeps it warm and cannot be detected until it is very near to earth. Sitchin also speaks of their people being named the Nephilim, same as the Bible.

Other 2012 Prophecies speak of the magnetic poles reversing. We know that they are weakening right now and have reversed in the past. It is evident in the geologic stratum of rocks. The weakening of the Magnetic poles will cause our brain waves to change and so will we. A reversal of the poles would wreck all electronics, satellite transmissions and communications. Our magnetic fields reflect radiation and a weakening would increase the greenhouse effect, melt the poles and cause severe climate change. All life support will be under stress; air, oceans and agriculture.

There has always been climate change. It is a natural process minimally affected by mankind. In 6000 BC temperatures dropped eight degrees. From 900-1300 AD temperatures warmed seven degrees. Temperatures then cooled seven degrees through 1850. Our planet is still warming since the last Ice Age and will rise ten degrees by 2100 and sea levels will rise by three feet. There have been four Ice Ages; 800K, 200K, 75K and 26K years ago. Every Ice Age was climate change but on its own. The reason we are not seeing sea levels rise now is because the continental shelf is rising as the ice sheets melt. By 2050, Niagara Falls will be a stream as it tilts backwards toward Lake Erie. Antarctica contains ninety percent of the world’s ice and it is not melting, it is getting thicker at the center. If all the ice melted around the world, sea levels would rise 200 feet.

Some people believe that evolution is speeding up. We only use 10% of our brain capacity and only 3% of our DNA. The other 97% is junk DNA. It is hard to believe that God had no purpose for the 97% or that we may be ready to evolve into the next stage of human as we use 20% of our brain capacity and 10% of our DNA. In a March 2009 poll, only 39% of respondents believed in the theory of evolution.

Some believe that there will be a shift in our consciousness away from materialism and towards the next level of our potential. It will be the end of a male dominated society dependent on government and centered on war. There will be a global wakeup call. Time will seem to speed up. People will be compelled to perform righteous deeds and will have dreams or visions that come true. They will hear voices while awake and then see an angel. There will be an evolution of consciousness and our psychic ability will increase. There will be a singularity where all people are connected psychically. We will anticipate each other’s thoughts and actions and sense impending danger. Crime would dramatically decrease as we would know what each other have done and plan to do. This telepathic capability is the next step in being able to operate vehicles, electronics and spacecraft using our minds. Indigo or Star children have been born since 1982. They are technologically savvy, question authority, have higher IQ’s than their parents. They will refuse to support the government, pay taxes and enlist in the military.

An April 2009 news article read that “Tibetan Monks predict that extra terrestrials will save earth in 2012”. Tibetan monks have used remote viewing for thousands of years. They see regional wars and an increase in terrorism in 2010. In 2012 they see a nuclear war between China, India and Russia. Extra terrestrials have been watching us and will intervene. They have intervened in the past. They will reveal themselves so that we will not be scared. We are destined to see and interact with them. Man will not be allowed to alter the future or destroy this planet. After 2012, we will be more in tune with spirituality and the mind body soul reincarnation connection to God.

Few know that Sir Isaac Newton spent more than half his life trying to decode the Bible. Michael Drosnin wrote the Bible Code books in which the Old Testament, Gone with the Wind and War and Peace were analyzed through a computer program. These three books all have about the same number of words. Numbers were applied to letters in order to search for words found on the same page that tell us the future. The Bible is a cryptogram and fore tells the future. Over 50 prophecies were discovered in the Bible as compared to just one in the other two texts. When 2012 was searched, it appeared on the same page with the words “earth annihilated”. Deuteronomy 12:12 (12:12 being a coincidence?) reads that, “Only God could’ve written the Bible. It was sealed before God”. I also remember reading that the Torah is written without spaces and that if you change or alter a single letter, you can alter the future.

Web Bot, or the Web Bot Project, refers to an Internet bot software program that is claimed to be able to predict future events by tracking keywords entered on the Internet. It was created in 1997, originally to predict stock market trends.[1] The creator of the Web Bot Project, Clif High, along with his associate George Ure, who call themselves "The Time Monks"[2], keep the technology and algorithms largely secret and sell the predictions via the website halfpasthuman.com . Future predictions include:

• November 17, 2010 - The web bot warns of a big tipping point, possibly World War III.[15]

• Major catastrophe in 2012 - The Web Bot has gained most of its notoriety for contributing to the 2012 phenomenon by predicting that a cataclysm will devastate the planet in the year 2012, possibly a reversing of Earth's magnetic poles or a small series of nuclear attacks leading up to a major attack during the year. The prediction does not necessarily call for a complete end of the world. (Wikipedia)

Many scientists believe that earth is past the tipping point; we’re heading toward our galactic midnight. We are suffering from over population, pollution, ozone depletion, terrorism, climate change and economic collapse. Earthquake activity and hurricane strength has increased each of the past four decades. Bats are dying from white nose syndrome and bees are dying of colony collapse disorder where infected bees abandon the hive in a suicidal attempt not to infect the queen. HIV, SAR’s and different strains of flu are also on the increase. Yet, we have the technological powers attributed to past Gods.

Buried in our DNA is the collective memory of past devastation. Evolution doesn’t explain the sudden jumps or advances in development. Whole new species suddenly appear. Our DNA shows mutations in intelligence 6000 years ago when the Bible claims man was created, 17,000 years ago when Homo sapiens replaced Cro-Magnon and 26,000 years ago when Cro-Magnon replaced Neanderthal man and 35,000 years ago when the DLL gene was introduce to man causing the brain and skull to enlarge. Homo sapiens have 223 genes that are not found in its predecessors and cannot be a result of evolution. Humans have the most diseases and genetic mutations of any species on earth. This may be because we contain the DNA of two species. Yet, our bodies contain the same percentage of salt that ocean water does and we also have the same percentage of water as the earth compared to land.

No prophecy discussion would be complete without a discussion of the Book of Revelation. “A star will fall to earth by the name of Wormwood with the breaking of the sixth seal”. Will this be an asteroid strike? The Red Horse signifies war. We’ve had 9-11 and Iraq. Will there be a global war for resources? The Black Horse signifies famine. I wonder if it doesn’t signify the want of oil. There will be food shortages; the United States feeds 100 countries. The Pale Horse signifies plague. One million people a year die of malaria. Small pox is the only plague that we have cured. Polio is the only disease that we have cured. Will it be a man made pandemic? There are only three species that wage war; ants, chimps and humans. The White Horse signifies the rise of the Anti Christ. He will be charismatic, persuasive and a peace lover at first. There will be seven years of bounty prior to his rise. From Sept 11 2001 to Sept 2008 the stock market and housing prices soared. Then, 25% or 1.6 billion humans will die. The sky will go dark from an asteroid strike or a super volcano eruption. We know that there have been five massive extinctions in the past.

It would take an asteroid of at least one mile in size to cause an earth changing event. An asteroid over four miles would be an extinction event. When an asteroid strikes, it is not like the movies or Deep Impact. You don’t get to watch is for minutes as it streams across the sky. If you can see a large asteroid, you will be incinerated. It will enter our atmosphere at 29,000 MPH or sixty times faster than a speeding bullet. It will strike at 2500 MPH. The jolt will resonate like a church bell many times throughout the planet. Two seconds later, ten miles away, a magnitude eight earthquake will be felt. Twenty seconds later, a 700 MPH heat blast will incinerate everything.

There are eight Super Volcanoes around the world. Three are located in the United States. Ninety percent of humans died 74,000 years ago when a Super Volcano in Indonesia blew. We know this from our mitochondrial DNA. Yellowstone Park is a 40 mile by 60 miles Super Volcano which is 40,000 years overdue from blowing. In January of 2009, it experienced 21 tremors and the ground is swelling up and moving lakes and hill sides. The caldera is one half the size of Long Island or Puerto Rico. It would blow ash into our upper stratosphere and darken the skies for weeks. Acid rain could kill our oceans and all crops would fail. Maybe this is the urgency to complete 1400 seed banks around the world. There are also 129 Deep Underground Military Bases (DUMB) in the US with a connecting tunnel system which may also account for the humming sound that many people experience. The bread belt of the United States would be covered in eight feet of ash. There have been five great civilizations; Lemuria, Atlantis, Egypt, Rome and the United States. Could this be how the United States comes to an end?

At a conference, I was asked what makes me think that the United States is a great civilization. My answer was that everything that this world is came from Western societies; mainly the United States and Europe. Technology, the rule of law, today’s freedoms are all products of the United States. Eighty percent of all new inventions, technology and patents are “made in America”. Militarily, it is the greatest civilization that has ever existed. If a Super Volcano or asteroid doesn’t destroy the United States, then it will be the mental illness of Americans who seem to hate this country when it is the greatest place to live!

Like Hamlet’s “To be or not to be”, picture your current frustration with housing prices, stock prices, unemployment and your 401K decrease. Everyone is upset and on the edge. Our national debt is $14T and our state debt is $2.6T or $52K per person so maybe it just doesn’t matter because they know that this is still the “Good Times” compared to 2013. Now imagine a series of natural disasters that disrupt the food chain; we lose all power for weeks and regress to feudal times. Population will be brought back in harmony with nature and resources. An asteroid, a global earth quake or a Super Volcano: all events that you have no control over. It’s predicted, it’s possible, and everyone senses in their collective memory that it is coming. It is coming in 2012!

The Mothman Comes Home

I received the following email from a woman in Ohio who has concerns in reference to a sighting her and a girlfriend had six months ago. She stated that she substituted their names for anonymity. 'Megan' affirms that all other details...location, date and description of the incident are factual:

Sir - my name is Megan. I am forwarding a summary of an experience that I and a friend had in August 2010. My friend and associate Kyra and I traveled from Columbus, Ohio to Ravenswood, West Virginia on business. While we were there, I wanted to make a side trip to Gallipolis, Ohio in order to visit relatives I had not seen for quite awhile.

After our meeting and presentation, we drove onto Ohio Rt. 7 and traveled south along the Ohio River towards Gallipolis. We had a nice, though brief, visit with my relatives. Around 6PM, we left their home and drove a few miles north on Rt. 7 to check-in to a hotel near the local airport.

Around 7:30PM, we decided to get dinner and found a quiet restaurant so we could eat and work. After we finished, Kyra needed to go to the store and pick up a few items that she forgot to pack. We headed to a Wal-Mart that was nearby the restaurant.

After we finished shopping, we were walking to the car when I noticed a woman running through the parking lot. When she reached her car, she looked back in the direction of the store then hurriedly got into the car. I quickly looked in the same direction and saw what looked like a large bird flying above the roof of the store. It was difficult to see but when it swooped downward the parking lot lights would shine off of it. It looked like it was either oily or had shiny leather-like skin. Whatever it was, it had a wide wing span. I would guess it reached 8-10 foot across. It circled above the store for about a minute then just disappeared.

We were both somewhat shocked at what we witnessed but figured that it was just a huge bird. Since it was dark, I figured we had misjudged what it really was.

We drove back to the hotel and decided to call it a night so we could get an early start on the drive home in the morning. I got ready for bed but thought I’d watch some television first. By this time it was around 10PM or so.

I must have dozed off fairly quickly because the next thing I remember is frantic knocking on my door. I stumbled out of bed and checked who it was. It was Kyra and she was obviously upset. She rushed into my room and said “it’s here!” “What are you talking about?”- a little bit perturbed that she woke me up. She said that she was laying on the bed reading when she heard something in the hallway. She got out of bed, walked to the door and listened to what she thought was ‘scratching’ sounds. After a few minutes the sounds stopped, so she went back to bed. Not long after she lay down she heard more scratching sounds but, from outside her window. Again she got up and peeked through the curtains. This time, something looked back at her.

Our rooms were on the second floor in the back section of the hotel and both looked out onto a small parking lot and a large field beyond that. She could see, what she described as, a ‘bald ugly man with wings’ who was looking directly at her with 'large bulging eyes that lit up bright red.' It was there for only a few seconds. It then spread it’s wings while running at the same time towards the end of the parking lot and lifted off the ground like a bird.

“You’re kidding, right?” I muttered to her. “Meg, I swear to God – that thing is out there and it knows we saw it!” I knew the only way I was going to get some sleep was to allow Kyra to stay in my room. The next morning we woke early, checked out and drove back to Columbus.

Kyra didn’t mention the incident from the previous night during the ride. In fact, she has still never said anything else about it. We continue to be good friends and have a very good working relationship.

But – I got curious. I had never heard about the Mothman or any of the tales associated with it. I grew up in Texas and had only lived in Ohio for a few years. I moved into my Mom’s house after she had passed away. Her relatives lived throughout Ohio but I had never been told any of the stories.

This is the reason I am writing to you. We were near Point Pleasant, WV when we had this encounter. Do you think that it is possible that this was a Mothman? I read some of your posts recently and I’m starting to believe that Kyra actually saw something supernatural.

In light of the prophecies of danger that this thing is suppose to warn people about, Kyra has had some bad luck and tragedy since that day. Her husband suddenly left her, she had a fire in her house and she severely injured her leg in a fall. Could this be connected?

I personally don’t believe in predictions, either good or bad. But I will admit that these have been strange times since we witnessed ‘whatever.’

NOTE: I responded to 'Megan's' concerns with a lot more uncertainty...we really don't have many answers for the Mothman. Is it natural, supernatural or non-terrestrial. Some people think that it may be an escaped experiment performed by the government. What would you tell 'Megan?' ...Lon

Japan Earthquake: Were There Warnings?

One year ago, on March 6, 2010, I posted the following:

telegraph - The appearance of the fish follows Saturday's destructive 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile and the January 12 tremors in Haiti, which claimed an estimated 200,000 lives.

A quake with a magnitude of 6.4 has also struck southern Taiwan.

This rash of tectonic movements around the Pacific "Rim of Fire" is heightening concern that Japan - the most earthquake-prone country in the world - is next in line for a major earthquake.

Those concerns have been stoked by the unexplained appearance of a fish that is known traditionally as the Messenger from the Sea God's Palace.

The giant oarfish can grow up to five metres in length and is usually to be found at depths of 1,000 metres and very rarely above 200 metres from the surface. Long and slender with a dorsal fin the length of its body, the oarfish resembles a snake.

In recent weeks, 10 specimens have been found either washed ashore or in fishing nets off Ishikawa Prefecture, half-a-dozen have been caught in nets off Toyama Prefecture and others have been reported in Kyoto, Shimane and Nagasaki prefectures, all on the northern coast.

According to traditional Japanese lore, the fish rise to the surface and beach themselves to warn of an impending earthquake - and there are scientific theories that bottom-dwelling fish may very well be susceptible to movements in seismic fault lines and act in uncharacteristic ways in advance of an earthquake - but experts here are placing more faith in their constant high-tech monitoring of the tectonic plates beneath the surface.

"In ancient times Japanese people believed that fish warned of coming earthquakes, particularly catfish," Hiroshi Tajihi, deputy director of the Kobe Earthquake Centre, told the Daily Telegraph.

"But these are just old superstitions and there is no scientific relationship between these sightings and an earthquake," he said.

EXTRATERRESTRIAL WARNING

Friday afternoon, I received a telephone call from a friend who had a dire warning. First off, this friend has had repeated alien contact for several years which I have documented. He has proven to me that he is not a charlatan through his verbal accounts and the physical evidence he has presented. The warning was that in the month of April 2010 to expect a sizable earthquake in the Pacific, notably in the area of Japan, as well as a tsunami that will effect the west coast of the United States and/or the Baja Peninsula.

This is not the only time I have heard a similar warning. A few months ago, an 'experiencer', who I had interviewed in 2007, contacted me that she had received a message from 'the guide' (according to her, 'the guide' was present during her abduction) to "take steps and prepare for major disturbances...to heed the 'messenger'." It upset her enough to call me several times and insist that we talk. By the way, this woman is married to a USMC officer and lives on Okinawa.

In spite of the recent major earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, I hadn't given much thought to the 'message' until I read last night the significance of the oarfish as the 'Messenger from the Sea God's Palace' in Japanese lore. For centuries, the Japanese have associated the sighting of deep sea oarfish as a harbinger of earthquakes. Many will call it superstition and that I am making too much of this...but it is an strange coincidence. Oh, don't shoot the messenger...Lon

The Sleeping Prophet

Edgar Cayce has been called the "sleeping prophet," the "father of holistic medicine," and the most documented psychic of the 20th century. For more than 40 years of his adult life, Cayce gave psychic "readings" to thousands of seekers while in an unconscious state, diagnosing illnesses and revealing lives lived in the past and prophecies yet to come.

Cayce was born on a farm in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, in 1877, and his psychic abilities began to appear as early as his childhood. He was able to see and talk to his late grandfather's spirit, and often played with "imaginary friends" whom he said were spirits on the other side.

Through the years, Cayce would find that he had the ability to put himself into a sleep-like state by lying down on a couch, closing his eyes, and folding his hands over his stomach. In this state of relaxation and meditation, he was able to place his mind in contact with all time and space...the universal consciousness, also known as the super-conscious mind.

In 1910, the New York Times carried two pages of headlines and pictures in which he was declared the "World's Most Mysterious Man" A national magazine ran an article titled, "Miracle Man of Virginia Beach", and Cayce was swamped with an avalanche of 25,000 requests for medical help. President Woodrow Wilson sought the services of Edgar Cayce for healing and guidance while he was President and conceiving the idea of the League of Nations.

The Outbounder, Healer and Prophet

At the age of twenty-one, Cayce contracted a throat problem which developed into aphonia...a total loss of voice. Doctors were unable to help him, and Cayce began to regard his problem as incurable. He resorted to hypnosis, but this too had no useful effect until it occurred to Cayce to attempt re-entering the kind of hypnotic sleep which had enabled him to learn his schoolbooks when he was a boy. A hypnotist was found who was willing to give Cayce the necessary suggestion. Once in a trance, Cayce reportedly spoke in a clear voice, spelling out precisely what his symptoms were, and what should be done to cure them. Cayce had succeeded in curing himself and, in doing so, had launched himself on a lifelong career as a psychic diagnostician and healer.

It made no difference to Cayce whether his patient was sitting next to him in the same room or a total stranger living hundreds of miles away. His preparations for the health reading were always the same. As he himself described it, he would first loosen his clothing in order to have a perfectly freeflowing circulation. He would then lie on the couch in his office, with his head to the south, and his feet to the north. Placing his hands on his forehead between his eyes, he would wait a few moments until he received what he would call the go signal, a flash of brilliant white light. Cayce would then move his hands to his solar plexus, and fall into a trance. His wife would tell him the name and location of the patient, leaving out any mention of age, sex or physical problem. Cayce might pause a while before repeating the name and address until he had succeeded in 'locating' the patient and describing his or her condition. He would then prescribe medication and any other corrective measures, always ending his reading with the words: "We are through."

In 1933, he explained that he still understood very little about what he was doing. "Apparently," he said, "I am one of the few who can lay aside their own personalities sufficiently to allow their souls to make this attunement to a universal source of knowledge...but I say this without any desire to brag about it. In fact I do not claim to possess anything that other individuals do not inherently possess. Really and truly, I do not believe there is a single individual that does not possess this same ability I have. I am certain that all human beings have much greater powers than they are ever conscious of...if they would only be willing to pay the price of detachment from self-interest that it takes to develop those abilities."

Cayce took a holistic approach to health. He believed that a man was composed of body, mind and spirit, and that all three are one. He talked about consciousness in the cells of the body, each contributing to the total consciousness of the individual. Health, he indicated, would flow from a perfect harmony of body and mind. In accordance with the concept that we are what we eat, think and believe, Cayce would often urge his patients to improve their mental and spiritual outlook in order to regain their health.

Cayce's prophetic powers often emerged during readings. Cayce gave advice to businessmen who were worried about the location of their holdings or the stability of their stocks and bonds. Six months before the 1929 stock market crash he warned people to sell everything they owned. He predicted the beginning and end of both the First and Second World Wars. In October 1935, Cayce spoke of the coming holocaust in Europe. The Austrians and Germans, he said, and later the Japanese, would take sides. "Thus an unseen force, gradually growing, must result in an almost direct opposition to the Nazi, or Aryan theme. This will gradually produce a growth of animosities. And unless there is interference by what many call supernatural forces and influences,which are active in the affairs of nations and peoples, the whole world as it were...will be set on fire by militaristic groups and people who are for power expansion."

In 1939 he predicted the deaths of two presidents in office; "Ye are to have turmoils...ye are to have strife between capital and labor. Ye are to have a division in thy own land, before ye have the second of the Presidents that next will not live through his office...a mob rule!" President Franklin D. Roosevelt died in office in April 1945. In November 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas.

In 1944, he prophesied that China would one day be "the cradle of Christianity as applied in the lives of men." Through Russia, he said "comes the hope of the world. Not in respect to what is sometimes termed Communism or Bolshevism...no! But freedom...freedom! That each man will live for his fellow man. The principle has been born there. It will take years for it to be crystallized; yet out of Russia comes again the hope of the world." Russia, he said, would be guided by friendship with the United States. It's attempt to rule "not only the economic, but the mental and spiritual life" of its people was doomed to failure.

The possibility of a third world war was also predicted. He spoke of strife arising "near the Davis Straits," and "in Libya, and in Egypt, in Ankara, and in Syria; through the straits around those areas above Australia, in the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf." When asked in June 1943 whether it would be feasible to work towards an international currency or a stabilization of international exchange levels when the war had ended, Cayce replied that it would be a long, long time before this would happen. Indeed, he said, "there may be another war over just such conditions."

One of Cayce's most striking predictions, particularly in view of many other prophecies relating to the approaching end of the millennium, concern dramatic changes in the Earth's surface in the period of 1958 to 1998. The cause of these he put down to a tilting in the Earth's rotational axis which he said would begin in 1936. He prophesied that the Earth's axis would be shifted by the year 2001, bringing on reversals in climate, "so that where there has been a frigid or semi-tropical climate, there will be a more tropical one, and moss and fern will grow." By this time, he indicated, a new cycle would begin.

Future Calamity

Cayce's most calamitous prediction came not long before he decided to start scaling back his session workload. He stated...."watch New York, Connecticut and the like. Many portions of the east coast will be disturbed, as well as many portions of the west coast, as well as the central portion of the United States. Los Angeles, San Francisco, most of all these will be among those that will be destroyed before New York, or New York City itself, will in the main disappear. This will be another generation though, here; while the southern portions of Carolina, Georgia, these will disappear. This will be much sooner. The waters of the Great Lakes will empty into the Gulf of Mexico." None of his predictions ever pinpointed the year 2012.

His lifelong secretary, Gladys Davis, took down virtually all his readings, and they are recorded and indexed in the Association for Enlightenment and Research, established in Virginia in 1932 to study Cayce's work. In all, he gave 14,879 readings, well over half of them for people concerned about their health. Over a period of forty-three years, he read for more than six thousand people.

In the spring of 1944, he became ill and began to grow weak. His own readings advised him to rest, but he felt a tremendous obligation to those who were asking for his help. Finally, he collapsed from sheer exhaustion; he gave his last reading for himself in September of 1944. The reading told him he had to rest. When his wife asked "How long?" the response was "until he is well or dead." Shortly afterwards, he had a stroke and became partially paralyzed. Although Edgar told them he would be healed after the first of the year, they understood what he meant and he died on January 3, 1945. He predicted the date of his burial, January 5, 1945...again, he was correct.

The following is a list of Cayce's most important and interesting known prophecies:

* "There will be upheavals in the Artic and Antarctic that will cause the eruption of volcanoes in the torrid areas, and pole shift."
* The greater portion of Europe will be changed in the twinkling of an eye.
* Southeast Canada will be safe from earth changes.
* Mt. Etna and nearby Vesuvius, and Mt Pelee signal the major changes.
* As to the changes physical again: The earth will be broken up in the western portion of America. The greater portion of Japan must go into the sea.
* The upper portion of Europe will be changed as in the twinkling of an eye. Land will appear off the east coast of America.
* There will be the upheavals in the Arctic and in the Antarctic that will make for the eruption of volcanoes in the Torrid areas, and there will be shifting then of the poles so that where there has been those of a frigid or the semitropical will become the more tropical, and moss and fern will grow. And these will begin in those periods in '58 to '98, when these will be proclaimed as the periods when His light will be seen again in the clouds. As to times, as to seasons, as to places, ALONE is it given to those who have named the name and who bear the mark of those of His calling and His election in their bodies. To them it shall be given.
* As to those things that deal with the mantle of the earth, these shall call upon the mountains to cover many. As ye have seen those in lowly places raised to those of power in the political, in the machinery of nations' activities, so shall ye see those in high places reduced and calling on the waters of darkness to cover them. And those that in the inmost recesses of theirselves awaken to the spiritual truths that are to be given, and those places that have acted in the capacity of teachers among men, the rottenness of those that have ministered in places will be brought to light, and turmoils and strifes shall enter. And, as there is the wavering of those that would enter as emissaries, as teachers, from the throne of life, the throne of light, the throne of immortality, and wage war in the air with those of darkness, then know ye the Armageddon is at hand.
* "And those that seek in the latter portion of the year of our Lord as ye have counted in and among men 1936, He will appear!" [Corrected to 1998]
* The sun will be darkened and there shall be proclaimed through the spiritual interception in the hearts and minds and souls that his star has appeared and will point the way for those who enter into the Holy of Holies in themselves. He will appear!" [Corrected to 1998]
* The regenerated shall come and declare that John Peniel is giving to the world the new order of things.
* [Cayce gave October 31 as the anniversary of Noah's Flood, or poleshift.
* "That same name as to which the priest was banished the constellation of Libra, or to Libya were these people sent.
* Is it not fitting, then, that these must return? as this priest may develop himself to be in that position, to be in the capacity of a LIBERATOR of the world in its relationships to individuals in those periods to come; for he must enter again at that period, or in 1998."
* There will be the breaking of agreements
* The earth changes are affected by sunspot cycle, they will be at max!
* The hottest weather occurs during the greatest sunspot activity.
* In 2100 AD water covered part of Alabama, and New York was gone. Most of the houses were of glass.
* Jupiter and Uranus influences in the affairs of the world appear the strongest on or about October 15 to the 20th destructive conditions
* May cause an earthquake in southern California
* "for the time and times and half times are at an end" [Propose a time is 1,000 years. If this count began with Daniel, the 2500 year span is coming to an end.]
* The young king's son will soon reign
* " In 1998 we may find a great deal of the activities as have been wrought by the gradual changes that are coming about. These are at the periods when the cycle of the solar activity, or the years as related to the sun's passage through the various spheres of activity become paramount or Catamount [?] [Tantamount?] to the change between the Piscean and the Aquarian age.
* Then the area where the entity is now located [Virginia Beach] will be among the safety lands, as will be portions of what is now Ohio, Indiana and Illinois, and much of the southern portion of Canada and the eastern portion of Canada; while the western land much of that is to be disturbed in this land as, of course, much in other lands."
* "The geographical changes, as we find, will not be of any appreciable change in the affairs of men, save as induced by those activities of men respecting their application of those laws pertaining to same, in this Particular generation."
* In America the people are to hold more power in their hands.
* that there would come three that would make of the perfect way of life. They achieved balance in their spiritual, their mental, their material experiences. They may proclaim the Atlantean records.
* If men in America don't show brotherly love civilization must wend its way westward, and again must Mongolia, must a hated people, be raised.
* "His messenger shall appear there." Hints, is finding those that make the paths straight.
* There are healing powers in the waters off Bimini, Changes near the site of the soon to be found Atlantis.

* "scientific change has been found by the observation into the terrestrial forces and into those places and conditions about the earth's planes, there is missing some one of the earth's companions or planets, and the combustion or destruction of same caused much changes"
* Quartz crystals amplify, lend, and synchronize many types of energy, such as light and electricity.
* Wear Lapis Linguis on the wrist or on the waist.
* Oil exists all across America along a line from Monterey, Mexico to Concord, New Hampshire in the Hickory Sands formation, 2400 3000 ft. in Texas.
* Atlantis lies west and south of Bimini.
* The Earth is catching up with Time.
* When the lines about the earth are considered from the mathematical precisions, it will be found that the center is nigh unto the Great Pyramid. This is a gradual, not a cataclysmic activity in the experience of the earth in this period. 16023"
* "Is Virginia Beach to be safe?" It is the center and the only seaport and center of the White Brotherhood.
* "this occurs in the entrance of the Messiah in this period 1998."
* Watch for them near Davis Strait in the attempts there for the keeping of the lifeline to a land open.
* Watch Libya and Ankara, and Syria and the Persian Gulf.
* Much of ancient Mexico under sea
* South California and South New Mexico were settled by Lemurians.
* A recession in the 1980's was predicted, caused by greed.
* Someday a "City of Gold" will be discovered in the Gobi Desert, a temple with elevators; electric cars
* On Russia's religious development hinges the hope of the world.
* Other planets and stars affect the elemental powers of the earth: Air, Fire, Water, and Earth.
* An ancient temple to the sun and moon is near Santa Barbara.
* for the satellite of the moon had not faded then

* One of Cayce's clients went to Bimini and found an old fresh water well, walled around the top, with stones of peculiar composition and strange symbols.
* This well and area are for "regeneration" of certain ailments.
* There is much gold under the sea.
* Devil's Triangle there are those conditions as related to the varied powers that are in power or in affluence as respecting activities of any nature there.
* Iltar the Atlantean leader of the Maya built the first temple, it will rise above the sea again.
* A Temple in the Yucatan is "overshadowing" the location of the Atlantean records. These records contain the history and sciences of the Atlanteans.
* The slaves of the Atlanteans were called "things".
* Egypt the center of the Universal activities of nature, as well as the spiritual forces.
* Mathematical, the astrological and the numerological indications
* A "community home" was at Ararat before Noah "who again joined with many in peopling the earth this was caused on Og.

* When asked, "Give in detail what the sealed room contains." referring to the Atlantean Library": A record of Atlantis from the beginning of those periods when the Spirit took form, or began the encasements in that land; and the developments of the peoples throughout their sojourn; together with the record of the first destruction, and the changes that took place in the land; with the record of the sojournings of the peoples and their varied activities in other lands, and a record of the meetings of all the nations or lands, for the activities in the destruction of Atlantis; and the building of the pyramid of initiation, together with whom, what, and where the opening of the records would come, that are as copies from the sunken Atlantis. For with the change, it [Atlantis] must rise again. The Akashic Records and Edgar Cayce

The Akashic Records or "The Book of Life" can be equated to the universe's super computer system. It is this system that acts as the central storehouse of all information for every individual who has ever lived upon the earth. More than just a reservoir of events, the Akashic Records contain every deed, word, feeling, thought, and intent that has ever occurred at any time in the history of the world. Much more than simply a memory storehouse, however, these Akashic Records are interactive in that they have a tremendous influence upon our everyday lives, our relationships, our feelings and belief systems, and the potential realities we draw toward us.

The Akashic Records contain the entire history of every soul since the dawn of Creation. These records connect each one of us to one another. They contain the stimulus for every archetypal symbol or mythic story which has ever deeply touched patterns of human behavior and experience. They have been the inspiration for dreams and invention. They draw us toward or repel us from one another. They mold and shape levels of human consciousness. They are a portion of Divine Mind. They are the unbiased judge and jury that attempt to guide, educate, and transform every individual to become the very best that she or he can be. They embody an ever-changing fluid array of possible futures that are called into potential as we humans interact and learn from the data that has already been accumulated.

In terms of contemporary insights, perhaps the most extensive source of information regarding the Akashic Records comes from the clairvoyant work of Edgar Cayce (1877-1945), Christian mystic and founder of A.R.E. For forty-three years of his adult life, Edgar Cayce possessed the uncanny ability to lie down on a couch, close his eyes, fold his hands over his stomach, and put himself into some kind of an altered state in which virtually any type of information was available. The accuracy of Cayce's psychic work is evidenced by approximately one dozen biographies and literally hundreds of titles which explore various aspects of his information and the thousands of topics he discussed.

When asked about the source of his information, Cayce replied that there were essentially two. The first was the subconscious mind of the individual for whom he was giving the reading and the second was the Akashic Records. Cayce described his experience as follows:

"I see myself as a tiny dot out of my physical body, which lies inert before me. I find myself oppressed by darkness and there is a feeling of terrific loneliness. Suddenly, I am conscious of a white beam of light. As this tiny dot, I move upward following the light, knowing that I must follow it or be lost.

As I move along this path of light I gradually become conscious of various levels upon which there is movement. Upon the first levels there are vague, horrible shapes, grotesque forms such as one sees in nightmares. Passing on, there begin to appear on either side misshapen forms of human beings with some part of the body magnified. Again there is change and I become conscious of gray-hooded forms moving downward. Gradually, these become lighter in color. Then the direction changes and these forms move upward and the color of the robes grows rapidly lighter. Next, there begin to appear on either side vague outlines of houses, walls, trees, etc., but everything is motionless. As I pass on, there is more light and movement in what appear to be normal cities and towns. With the growth of movement I become conscious of sounds, at first indistinct rumblings, then music, laughter, and singing of birds. There is more and more light, the colors become very beautiful, and there is the sound of wonderful music. The houses are left behind, ahead there is only a blending of sound and color. Quite suddenly I come upon a hall of records. It is a hall without walls, without ceiling, but I am conscious of seeing an old man who hands me a large book, a record of the individual for whom I seek information."

NOTE: I find much of Cayce's work fascinating but hardly the work of a prophet...at least not someone under the direct instruction of a Supreme Being. Let's say for argument's sake that Edgar Cayce's incredible predictions all came true. Even under that scenario, it would still be an unexplained phenomenon...not proof that a Deity exists. My spiritual agnostic nature aside, Cayce was blessed with extraordinary abilities...Lon

Apocalypse Prophecy, Conjecture and Ambiguity

The world will not end on December 21, 2012 as some interpret the Mayan prophecies. One of the important discoveries from the Yucatan ruins is that the Maya had several calendars. One is known as the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days, a period known as The Great Circle. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. Obviously, this calendar is of no interest to the Maya any longer, since their civilization collapsed over a thousand years ago. (Though there are people today who are the descendants of the Maya and the culture lives on through them) Nevertheless, this date is of enormous interest to certain doomsday prophets and New Age astrologers, such as Carl Johan Calleman, who are spreading the good news either that the Maya knew the date when the world would end or they knew the date when a New Age of Transformation would begin.

In Charles Gallenkamp's book Maya: The Riddle and Rediscovery of a Lost Civilization, on December 21, 2012, there will be an "alignment between the galactic and solar planes." The winter solstice sun will "conjunct the Milky Way." This is supposed to open up some sort of "cosmic sky portal."

Astrologer John Major Jenkins explains the chart: If we make a standard horoscope chart for December 21st, 2012 A.D., nothing very unusual appears. In this way I was led astray in my search until Linda Schele provided a clue in the recent book Maya Cosmos. Probably the most exciting breakthrough in this book is her identification of the astronomical meaning of the Mayan Sacred Tree. Drawing from an impressive amount of iconographic evidence, and generously sharing the process by which she arrived at her discovery, the Sacred Tree is found to be none other than the crossing point of the ecliptic with the band of the Milky Way. Indeed, the Milky Way seems to have played an important role in Mayan imagery. For example, an incised bone from 8th century Tikal depicts a long sinking canoe containing various deities. This is a picture of the night sky and the canoe is the Milky Way, sinking below the horizon as the night progresses, and carrying with it deities representing the nearby constellations.

The incredible Mayan site of Palenque is filled with Sacred Tree motifs and references to astronomical events. In their book [A] Forest of Kings, Schele and Freidel suggested that the Sacred Tree referred to the ecliptic. Apparently that was only part of the picture, for the Sacred Tree that [the Mayan king] Pacal ascends in death is more than just the ecliptic, it is the sacred doorway to the underworld. The crossing point of Milky Way and ecliptic is this doorway and represents the sacred source and origin. [Apparently, Jenkins is interpreting Pacal's sarcophagus, which depicts the Sacred Tree emerging from what has been called an umbilical cord]

While it is true that the sun conjuncts the Sacred Tree on December 3rd in the year 755 A.D., over the centuries precession has caused the conjunction date to approach the winter solstice. So, how close are we to perfect conjunction today? Exactly when might we expect the winter solstice sun to conjunct the crossing point of Galactic Equator and ecliptic - the Mayan Sacred Tree? Any astronomer will tell you that, presently, the Milky Way crosses the ecliptic through the constellation of Sagittarius and this area is rich in nebulae and high density objects. In fact, where the Milky Way crosses the ecliptic in Sagittarius also happens to be the direction of the Galactic Center.

Most astronomers will likely tell you that an alignment between our sun and any particular point in the Milky Way will just bring another day in paradise here on planet Earth. In any case, Jenkins is not alone in his interpretation of the mysterious Maya Long Count calendar. A Guatemalan anthropologist and student of Maya history and calendars, Carlos Barrios, has a similar interpretation:

The Mayan Calendars comprehension of time, seasons, and cycles has proven itself to be vast and sophisticated. The Maya understand 17 different calendars, some of them charting time accurately over a span of more than ten million years. The calendar that has steadily drawn global attention since 1987 is called the Tzolk'in or Cholq'ij. Devised ages ago and based on the cycle of the Pleiades, it is still held as sacred. With the indigenous calendars, native people have kept track of important turning points in history. For example, the daykeepers who study the calendars identified an important day in the year One Reed, Ce Acatal, as it was called by the Mexicans. That was the day when an important ancestor was prophesied to return, "coming like a butterfly." In the western calendar, the One Reed date correlates to Easter Sunday, April 21, 1519 the day that Hernando Cortez and his fleet of 11 Spanish galleons arrived from the East at what is today called Vera Cruz, Mexico.

When the Spanish ships came toward shore, native people were waiting and watching to see how it would go. The billowing sails of the ships did indeed remind the scouts of butterflies skimming the ocean surface.

It will be the start of a new era resulting from and signified by the solar meridian crossing the galactic equator, and the earth aligning itself with the center of the galaxy.

At sunrise on December 21, 2012 for the first time in 26,000 years the Sun rises to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic. This cosmic cross is considered to be an embodiment of the Sacred Tree, The Tree of Life, a tree remembered in all the world's spiritual traditions. Some observers say this alignment with the heart of the galaxy in 2012 will open a channel for cosmic energy to flow through the earth, cleansing it and all that dwells upon it, raising all to a higher level of vibration. - 'Steep Uphill Climb to 2012: Messages from the Mayan Milieu' - Steven McFadden

So according to these interpretations we can expect a transformation and good vibrations as a result of a cosmic energy flow. This sounds fantastic to me...maybe we'll receive a few answers to some long ago asked questions as well. However, the facts indicate that the Maya kings and nobles focused more on short-term projects like enriching themselves, building monuments and remaining in power than in predicting the dawning of a new age of good vibrations long after their civilization had collapsed.

Nevertheless, let's look at the prophecies:

The Mayan Prophecies of 2012

An Apocalypse (Greek: “lifting of the veil” or “revelation”) is a disclosure of something hidden from the majority of mankind in an era dominated by falsehood and misconception.

"Both the Hopis and Mayans recognize that we are approaching the end of a World Age... In both cases, however, the Hopi and Mayan elders do not prophesy that everything will come to an end. Rather, this is a time of transition from one World Age into another. The message they give concerns our making a choice of how we enter the future ahead. Our moving through with either resistance or acceptance will determine whether the transition will happen with cataclysmic changes or gradual peace and tranquility. "The person with no previous exposure to the Mayan Calendar will usually initially be surprised by the fact that some people today take such an interest in an ancient calendar. After all, human history has seen a high number of different calendars. Is not then the Mayan calendar just a very specialized subject of interest only to specialists or history buffs? “Why would the world today need another calendar than the Gregorian or Muslim that are currently in use, and why should this be the Mayan calendar?” some may ask.

Well, to begin with most people probably have a much too limited view of the importance of the Mayan civilization, and Native American traditions generally. It is a calendar of the Ages that describes how the progression of Heavens and Underworlds condition the human consciousness and thus the frames for our thoughts and actions within a given Age. The Mayan Calendar provides an exact schedule for the Cosmic Plan and the unfolding of all things that come into existence. There is now ample empirical evidence for this, something that shines new light on the age old questions of mankind. Things do exist for a reason. The reason is that they fit into the divine cosmic plan. For those that seriously engage in a study of the Mayan Calendar this soon becomes evident and the former materialist world view loses all relevance. The Mayan Calendar is a gateway to the worlds of consciousness which the majority of humanity has been blinded to through the use of false or delusory calendars.

Since everything that exists is an aspect of consciousness, and the Mayan Calendar describes the evolution of consciousness in all of its aspects, no stone is left unturned for the serious student of the Mayan Calendar. All of science is affected, all of religion is affected, all of life is affected. We are here for a reason. Time is no longer equated with money, but with spirit. Time is inspiration!

The Prophecies of the Hopi People

Their prophecies are not written in obscure, archaic language, hidden away in dusty tomes. The Hopi Elders have passed these warnings to subsequent generations through word of mouth and with reference to ancient rock drawings and tablets, keeping track of those that have been fulfilled and paying close attention to warning signs.

The following prophecies, probably the only portion shared with whites at the time, has been reproduced many times and is usually the first glimpse of Hopi Prophecy that one encounters when researching the subject.

Emergence to the Fifth World

"The end of all Hopi ceremonialism will come when a Kachina removes his mask during a dance in the plaza before uninitiated children. For a while there will be no more ceremonies, no more faith. Then Oraibi will be rejuvenated with its faith and ceremonies, marking the start of a new cycle of Hopi life.

"World War III will be started by those peoples who first revealed the light (the divine wisdom or intelligence) in the other old countries (India, China, Islamic Nations, Africa). The United States will be destroyed, land and people, by atomic bombs and radioactivity. Only the Hopis and their homeland will be preserved as an oasis to which refugees will flee. Bomb shelters are a fallacy. "It is only materialistic people who seek to make shelters. Those who are at peace in their hearts already are in the great shelter of life. There is no shelter for evil. Those who take no part in the making of world division by ideology are ready to resume life in another world, be they Black, White, Red, or Yellow race. They are all one, brothers.

"The war will be 'a spiritual conflict with material matters. Material matters will be destroyed by spiritual beings who will remain to create one world and one nation under one power, that of the Creator.'

"That time is not far off. It will come when the Saquasohuh (Blue Star) Kachina dances in the plaza and removes his mask. He represents a blue star, far off and yet invisible, which will make its appearance soon. [Some Hopi spokespersons suggest that Hale-Bopp is the Blue Star.] The time is foretold by a song sung during the Wuwuchim ceremony. It was sung in 1914 just before World War I, and again in 1940 before World War II, describing the disunity, corruption, and hatred contaminating Hopi rituals, which were followed by the same evils spreading over the world. This same song was sung in 1961 during the Wuwuchim ceremony.

"The Emergence to the future Fifth World has begun. It is being made by the humble people of little nations, tribes, and racial minorities. 'You can read this in the earth itself. Plant forms from previous worlds are beginning to spring up as seeds. This could start a new study of botany if people were wise enough to read them. The same kinds of seeds are being planted in the sky as stars. The same kinds of seeds are being planted in our hearts. All these are the same, depending how you look at them. That is what makes the Emergence to the next, Fifth World.'

"These comprise the nine most important prophecies of the Hopis, connected with the creation of the nine worlds: the three previous worlds on which we lived, the present Fourth World, the three future worlds we have yet to experience, and the world of Taiowa, the Creator, and his nephew, Sotuknang." - from 'The Book of the Hopi' by Frank Waters

"The Fourth World shall end soon, and the Fifth World will begin. This the elders everywhere know. The Signs over many years have been fulfilled, and so few are left.

"This is the First Sign: We were told of the coming of the white-skinned men, like Pahana, but not living like Pahana -- men who took the land that was not theirs and who struck their enemies with thunder. (Guns?)

"This is the Second Sign: Our lands will see the coming of spinning wheels filled with voices. (Covered wagons?)

"This is the Third Sign: A strange beast like a buffalo but with great long horns, will overrun the land in large numbers. (Longhorn cattle?)

"This is the Fourth Sign: The land will be crossed by snakes of iron. (Railroad tracks?)

"This is the Fifth Sign: The land shall be criss-crossed by a giant spider's web. (Power / telephone lines or the internet?)

"This is the Sixth Sign: The land shall be criss-crossed with rivers of stone that make pictures in the sun. (Concrete roads and their mirage-producing effects?)

"This is the Seventh Sign: You will hear of the sea turning black, and many living things dying because of it. (Oil spills?)

"This is the Eighth Sign: You will see many youth, who wear their hair long like our people, come and join the tribal nations, to learn our ways and wisdom. (Hippies?)

"And this is the Ninth and Last Sign: You will hear of a dwelling-place in the heavens, above the earth, that shall fall with a great crash. It will appear as a blue star. Very soon after this, the ceremonies of the Hopi people will cease.

"These are the Signs that great destruction is here: The world shall rock to and fro. The white man will battle people in other lands -- those who possessed the first light of wisdom. There will be many columns of smoke and fire such as the white man has made in the deserts not far from here. Those who stay and live in the places of the Hopi shall be safe. Then there will be much to rebuild. And soon, very soon afterward, Pahana will return. He shall bring with him the dawn of the Fifth World. He shall plant the seeds of his wisdom in our hearts. Even now the seeds are being planted. These shall smooth the way to the Emergence into the Fifth World."

The Revelations of Nostradamus

Michel de Nostredame or Nostradamus as he is popularly called, was born in France in 1503. He was a kind of pharmacist and a healer and around 1550 he developed an interest in the occult sciences and started writing almanacs. He became famous for these and many people used to come to him for horoscopes and psychic advice. Later he started summarizing his prophecies and writing them in quatrains which is a four lines poetic para in French. He compiled about a thousand of these undated quatrains into a book called “The Prophecies”. Nostradamus wrote in a cryptic style and his quatrains need interpretation. Many have found that most of these predictions have been accurate and his prophecies are highly regarded by astrologers and in many occult circles.

You must keep in mind that Nostradamus predictions are never clear cut and he writes symbolically and hence different people interpret these symbols in various ways. Although this is the case, many of his predictions have been interpreted correctly regarding the second world war, Hitler and so on. This makes 2012 Nostradamus predictions even more interesting to read as most people feel that they can be highly accurate.

According to these interpretations, Nostradamus predicted massive destruction and havoc brought about by a comet. It is not clear whether this comet will strike the earth or will pass very close to our planet, causing massive earthquakes and other cataclysmic occurrences. But many interpreters of his quatrains are united on the opinion that it will be a comet which will come somewhere in December 2012.

One of the quatrains says – “King of terror shall come from the sky. He will bring to life the King of Mongols.” This line has been interpreted that after the coming of the comet China will gain prominence and might start attacking countries to gain supremacy. Nostradamus also gives an indication of the fate of certain nations. “The Huge dog will howl at night, when the great pontiff will change lands”. The great dog is taken to be the United Kingdom by many interpreters, and the line suggests its destruction. The pontiff is taken to be the pope and hence Rome too will be destroyed.

The Book Of Revelation

The Book of the Revelation opens with the announcement of its title, and with a benediction on those who give diligent heed to its solemn prophetic utterances:

1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him, to show unto His servants things which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John:

2 who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Biblical scholars believe that around 90 CE the Book of Revelation was written, the only apocalypse in the New Testament and the "last book of the Bible..."the least read and most difficult." Revelation has had tremendous influence on our culture and history, not only motivating millions of believers but contributing vivid images and phrases to popular culture, from the "four horsemen of the Apocalypse" to the "mark of the beast."

Of course, it's meaning is open to interpretation...just like all of the doomsday scenarios and predictions.

In my opinion, on a collective scale, we are experiencing a time period in which all that has been unconscious may become conscious. All that has been hidden may begin to be revealed.

We live in rare and precarious times...astounding, fragile and mysterious. We are each drops in this sea of humanity, small pieces of the physical and psychic collective. We need to remember our unity by facing our shared challenges. The crises we will face must bring us together to inspire our constructive creativity.
