Roman Catholic exorcists meet in Poland to discuss 'vampires and the devil's deceit'
Vampires, the devil's deceit and mental illness are among the hot topics for some 300 exorcists who flocked to Poland this week from as far away as Africa and India for a week-long congress.
Held at Poland's Roman Catholic Jasna Gora monastery, home to the venerated Black Madonna icon, this year's congress "examines the current fashion for vampirism in Europe and the world-over, schizophrenia and other mental disorders as well as the devil's deceit during exorcism," according to the monastery's radio station.
Also attending are "priests and lay people who work with exorcists or who are themselves practitioners in cases which do not involve possession but rather other forms of harassment by evil spirits," Polish exorcist, Father Andrzej Grefkowicz was quoted as saying.
Hailing from India, world-renowned exorcist Father Rufus Pereira as well as chief exorcist of the Archdiocese of Vienna Larry Hogan are among the participants, the radio reported. The unusual meeting is held once every two years.
The Jasna Gora monastery's venerated Black Madonna icon is believed by many Poles to work miracles.
Legend has it that it was painted by the apostle Saint Luke on a table top from the home of the Holy Family, according to the Jasna Gora website. Records suggest the icon arrived in Poland during the 14th century.
With around 90 percent of the population declaring themselves Roman Catholic, Poland remains one of Europe's most devout countries. - yahoo

Human hybrids: Do they exist?
Milagros Garcia is an alleged Alien and Human inter-species hybrid. The blood DNA from this Puerto Rican woman has yielded analyses so unusual and interesting that the physician involved is now interested in meeting the subject for further study. The DNA is possible in humans but is very rare.
Ms. Garcia claims that she is the offspring of an alien encounter. The Doctor is not interested in the UFO/ alien phenomena he wants answers as to why her DNA has such rare qualities.
A case similar to this is being investigated in New Paris, Ohio. A woman there has exceptional skills and get by on two hours of sleep a night.

Fossil could prove species was wiped out by killer asteroid, say scientists
A horn from one of the last surviving dinosaurs could finally prove that a massive meteor strike ended the reptiles' reign on Earth.
The 45cm-long fossilised browhorn belonged to a family of plant-eating dinosaurs that included the famous three-horned Triceratops.
It was found at a geological site known as the Hell Creek Formation in the bleak badlands of south-east Montana, U.S., where many other dinosaur fossils have been unearthed.
What made this find so remarkable was its location, just 13cm below the rock layer that marks the Cretaceous-Tertiary or 'K-T' boundary - the point in the fossil record where the dinosaurs died.
This suggests dinosaurs were around right up to the time all traces of their existence vanished.
Scientist believe they then disappeared suddenly after an abrupt global disaster rather than a slow extinction.
A huge asteroid or comet smashing into the Earth off the coast of Mexico at the end of the Cretaceous Period 65 million years ago is widely believed to have killed off the dinosaurs.
But some sceptics have repeatedly pointed to an absence of dinosaur fossils for three million years leading up to the impact as evidence that the creatures may have already gone when the meteor struck.
There has been an apparent lack of fossils buried within the 10 feet of rock below the K-T boundary. The area has become known as the 'three-meter gap.'
The 'three-meter gap' theory has helped drive controversy over what happened to the dinosaurs, some of which evolved into birds.
Some scientists have suggested that the dinosaurs slowly died off.
However, the horn fossil appears to close the gap, according to scientists writing in the Royal Society journal Biology Letters.
The discovery gives weight to the idea that a devastating asteroid obliterated the beasts.
'This discovery provides some evidence that dinosaurs didn't slowly die out before the meteor struck,' Dr Tyler Lyson, from Yale University in New Haven told physorg.
'The fact that this specimen was so close to the boundary indicates that at least some dinosaurs were doing fine right up until the impact.
'The in situ specimen demonstrates that a gap devoid of non-avian (bird) dinosaur fossils does not exist and is inconsistent with the hypothesis that non-avian dinosaurs were extinct prior to the K-T boundary impact event.'
The scientists pointed out that a 125cm section of rock strata laid down after the impact was completely devoid of fossils. - dailymail

Father and son both die in lightning strikes, 48 years apart
A New Jersey man followed the tragic fate of his own father 48 years ago when he was struck dead by lightning during a weekend barbecue with his family.
On Thursday, family members said 500 people from the tight-knit Hammonton, N.J. community attended the funeral to mourn the death of Stephen Rooney, 54, who was "well-known" and a "real nice guy," according to the town's Chief of Police Robert Jones. Forty-eight years ago, the same fate befell his father. Read more at abcnews

'I gave birth to seven-headed snake'
A police officer’s wife has claimed to have given birth to a seven-headed snake last week Thursday.
Patience Tsabedze (27), a self-confessed former devil worshipper says she ‘gave birth’ to the large serpent after experiencing labour pains, yet she was not pregnant, on the evening of Thursday, July 7, 2011.
According to her, the labour pains were so severe that she decided to go to toilet and ‘push out’ whatever was troubling her.
She says the seven-headed snake then came out and upon seeing it at the base of the toilet, she screamed for help.
Her husband, Constable Mfanzile Malaza, rushed to the toilet to see what was happening and indeed saw the snake.
"He tried to kill it using a log but as he fought it, it hid inside the water and it was flushed away," she said during an interview at the government flat she shares with her cop husband.
The husband, when called at his workplace yesterday, also confirmed the incident and said he was shocked.
"It was my first time seeing such a snake, a seven-headed one with glittering eyes. I tried to kill it but it hid inside the toilet so we decided to flush it," he said.
Meanwhile, Tsabedze says life has become extremely difficult for her since she decided to stop worshipping the devil. She claims that every week, strange things happen to her.
In an almost weekly basis, she vomits litres and litres of blood, which is accompanied by live worms, fish (hake) and spiders.
"Just a few days ago, I vomited live worms which I flushed in the toilet," she said.
Tsabedze says she is now born again and wants out of devil-worshipping but it is difficult. She says she is being attacked by demons almost every night because they (demons) do not want her to leave the ‘underworld’. - times.co.sz
