Just the Facts? - NJ Bigfoot Sightings Increase, Buttock Slasher Warning and Another Ripper Suspect

Urban Bigfoot Sighting Increase in New Jersey

Bigfoot spotters in New Jersey are reporting their own version of Sasquatch in ever-increasing numbers. Called "Big Red Eye" by locals, the sightings started in the 1970s and have been getting a little more attention lately, possibly due to the popularity of television shows heating up the subject.

But New Jersey is no stranger to mysterious creatures stalking the extensive, and still somewhat remote, forests of the state. Their NHL team gets their name from the most pervasive legend, the New Jersey Devil. So this new Bigfoot legend is a relative newcomer.

But it doesn't mean there aren't ardent believers. "Big Red Eye" is being stalked itself with trackers who now have an impressive array of surveillance equipment which opens up the nighttime option of having their wits scared out of them. And worse.

It stills leaves time for a little philosophical reflection. As Bigfoot Research Organization tracker Mike Arragona puts it, "We have all this technology. We put a man on the moon. We have satellites. We have all these different things, but here's a creature that could be living right under our noses that has mastered something we have long lost: how to survive in the woods."

So it looks like New Jersey is an up-and-comer as a new hotspot for Bigfoot sightings. But if they ever actually find one, don't be too surprised if this one sports a bouffant hairstyle, drinks until its tipsy and is addicted to spray-on tans! - gather

Police warn young women to be aware of buttocks slasher

The suspect, described as a heavy-set Hispanic man in his late 20s, distracts women before slashing them across the bottom with a box-cutter or razor.

In the most recent attack, an 18-year-old woman was slashed through a pair of denim shorts as she browsed for clothes at a Forever 21 outlet in Fair Oaks Mall on Monday evening.

She told police she noticed several clothes falling from a rack behind her, saw a man bend to pick them up, then felt a ‘sharp pain’ in her rear.

The victim believed it was just a coat hanger that hit hear behind, until she realised her denim shorts had been sliced and her bottom was cut and bleeding.

According to police, there have been at least six similar attacks in the county since February, all targeting women in their late teens or early 20s.

The last attack before Monday’s was on June 20 at the Marshall’s department store in the Greenbriar Shopping Centre.

The bottom slasher also struck on June 18 at H&M at Tyson’s Corner Mall; May 15 at the Ann Taylor outlet at Fair Oaks Mall; and February 14 at the Champs, also at Fair Oaks Mall. …

The attacker could be suffering from a sexual disorder known as piquerism, which means he gets sexual gratification from stabbing or cutting his victims with sharp objects, former FBI profiler Gregg McCrary told Virginia’s News & Messenger. - dailymail

The Mystery Monster at Chiang Rai

Often paranormal stories will follow a central theme or be related to a well known phenomenon. Entities are said to be like other existing creatures or entities or else they often are connected to a long string of stories that become lore and eventually out-strange their predecessors. But the story of the creature in Chiang Rai in Thailand started extremely odd and only got stranger. What’s more, the entity seemingly came out of nowhere and was witnessed by several people right from the start.

There’s a definite difference between stories about creatures like The Mothman of Point Pleasant and the more widely accepted Bigfoot (and Yeti) seen throughout the world. One of them seems to be an actual physical being interacting with the world around it like other physical beings while others seem to be only limited in their interaction with our world - sometimes appearing more ghostlike than physical and carrying with them a sense of impermanence perpetuated by forces unknown to us as if they had somehow leaked into our world from a higher dimension. Such is the case with the mysterious creature of Chiang Rai that appeared in a field one morning in 2005.

The first witness, a Sawaeng Bunratchasak found himself in a field near his residence at approximately 8:30 in the morning. It was the last day of August, and Bunratchasak was striding through the field before the mid-day heat set in when he caught glimpse of something strange hovering in the sky. Thinking it might be a roughly anthropomorphic contraption of some sort, Bunratchasak watched closely as a strange entity danced and hovered in the space directly above the field in large circles, bounding rapidly around as if attempting to observe the area around it.

Sawaeng Bunratchasak’s description of the creature suggest it was shorter than a person, had no arms, and had incredibly large red eyes, which it used to take in and gaze at the field around it. The creature then suddenly stopped in mid-air and turned to Bunratchasak giving him a nod that looked quite communicative to the frightened witness as though it wanted him to do something to help it out of an increasingly strange situation. Fleeing the scene, Bunratchasak related the story to villagers who then returned to the field without him and later reported that they had seen the creature as well.

When the creature left, however, it was reported that it suddenly turned black and shot up into the air where a strange rift of light was glowing. After the creature disappeared, so did the light. After analyzing the eyewitness accounts several people have suggested that this creature was somehow an alien that was visiting Earth and was spotted before it was “beamed back” onto its ship.

Of course there is another theory. Many of the qualities described with this mystery creature suggest it was not behaving according to physics as we understand them. The creature had mass and likely weight, but was not seemingly bound to the Earth. And the light it was later pulled into seemed almost like a gateway between worlds had been opened and pulled the creature through. Is it possible the creature could have been a lost dimensional traveler that eventually “snapped back” to its own plane of existence? The strange mystery remains unsolved. - unexplainable

Is this Jack the Ripper?

Suspects have ranged from a member of Royal Family to a local butcher – but it is now claimed that Jack the Ripper was the very detective who led the hunt for the killer.

Chief Inspector Frederick Abberline of Scotland Yard was the man who murdered and mutilated at least five women in Victorian East London – at least according to Spanish writer Jose Luis Abad, 84.

He makes the claim in his book Jack the Ripper: The Most Intelligent Murderer in History, published in Spain this week.

Mr Abad is a handwriting expert and has compared Abberline’s writing with that in the Ripper’s diary – which surfaced in Liverpool in 1992.

Mr Abad, says: ‘I have no doubt Abberline was the Ripper. Handwriting does not lie.’

The diary was attributed to a Liverpool cotton dealer called James Maybrick – whom others have identified as the Ripper.

But many experts say the diary is a hoax. Mr Abad believes it is real, but that the author was Abberline, not Maybrick.

Other theories link the Ripper murders to Queen Victoria’s grandson, Prince Albert Victor.

The detective was placed in charge of the Ripper investigations following the murder of Mary Ann Nichols in August 1888. He died in 1929 aged 86 at his home in Bournemouth.

Michael Caine played Chief Inspector Abberline in the 1988 TV movie Jack the Ripper, and Johnny Depp played the policeman in 2001's From Hell.

Jack the Ripper brought terror to the capital by butchering at least five prostitutes in Whitechapel, east London, between August and November 1888. On one infamous night, he murdered two women within minutes of each other.

An analysis of his methods revealed that several of the Ripper's victims had their throats cut, while those killed also had organs removed such as the uterus or the heart.

It has been claimed that before every slaying the Ripper would spend time drinking spirits in the pub before taking a stroll throughout the Whitechapel neighbourhood with lowered inhibitions.

After each killing he would return to a safe area where he could wash the blood from his hands and get rid of soiled clothing.

The case remains one of the world's greatest unsolved murder mysteries and over the years many suspects have been brought into the frame including Prince Albert Victor, Queen Victoria's grandson; Sir William Gull, the Queen's physician; and Sir Walter Sickert, a renowned painter of the time.

Identity parade: New Scotland Yard's four suspects in the Ripper case (from left to right) include Montague John Druitt, Michael Ostrog, Aaron Kosminski and Dr Francis J.Tumblety

At the time of the incidents New Scotland Yard boiled it down to four suspects but similarly they were unable to nail the murderer.

The pseudonym Jack the Ripper came from a letter posted to a London news agency at the time of the murders, supposedly from the killer himself but it was later dismissed as a hoax.

Last month it emerged Scotland Yard is fighting a legal battle to withhold secret Ripper files compiled by Special Branch officers in the 1880s. - dailymail
